Andrea is the owner of Bates Insurance Agency and a Financial Advisor with Voya Financial.

She began her career in the Insurance business in 1988 initially as a Property Casualty agent overseeing sales, marketing and the administration of her father’s Insurance Agency.  In 1992 her focus expanded to include retirement income planning, employee benefits, life, health and disability.  She became owner of the agency in 1996 and in 2019 she promoted Joan Bates and Daniel Bates III to oversee the day-to-day operation of the agency so she could focus full time on her Financial Advisory practice which now also includes Divorce Financial Analysis.  

Andrea is passionate about advising those navigating towards retirement or divorce and sometimes at the same time.  Her extensive training in government entitlements such as Social Security and Medicare, public and private pensions, retirement vehicles, groups benefits, divorce financial analysis provides her with a deep understanding of how they work in conjunction with one another.

Her goal is to engage her clients into active planning so they can live by design and not by default.
