Tom Dickson, National Leader of Financial Advisor Channel at Reverse Mortgage Funding LLC, oversees the education and support of financial advisors, along with relationships with leading Broker/Dealers and RIAs. Tom presents Four Common Uses of Today’s Reverse Mortgage at FPA, NAIFA and NAPFA chapters throughout the country.

Tom collaborated with Harold Evensky and John Salter on the inaugural academic research on reverse mortgages, which evaluated the efficacy of a reverse mortgage credit line as a portfolio management tool to improve client outcomes.  The published research, Standby Reverse Mortgage, A Risk Management Tool, was published in the Journal of Financial Planning and has been widely cited in financial publications as well as leading news media such as the Wall Street Journal.

Subsequent to the research, Tom co-designed enhancements to the MoneyGuidePro financial planning program for the inclusion of the reverse mortgage credit line strategy, along with the reverse mortgage lifetime income option in client plans.

Tom’s monthly webinar series, www.RetirementExpertsNetwork.c..., has educated over 80,000 financial advisors on topics ranging from Social Security to Medicaid Annuities to College Financial Planning. Expert speakers have included Bob Keebler, Larry Kotlikoff, Mark Kantrowitz, Bill Meyer, Harold Evensky, John Salter, Dale Kraus and Wade Pfau.

Prior to his work in the reverse mortgage industry, Tom worked in the brokerage and mutual fund industry.  He helped launch some of the first online brokers and non-proprietary wrap programs, and served as Product Manager for Mellon’s Institutional Custody business. During his career, Tom has held Series 6 and 65 securities licenses.
